The Stellar M22 is a versatile light-based platform we use for our M22 IPL Photofacial. IPL stands for intense pulsed light — a broadband light that gently heats the pigment and blood vessels behind discoloration. A separate fractional mode, ResurFX, can go a step further to smooth texture.
the IPL delivers pulses of broadband light that brown spots and visible red vessels absorb.
through a process called selective photothermolysis, the light warms unwanted pigment and vessels while leaving surrounding skin intact.
your body naturally clears the treated pigment over the following days, and tone looks more even.
where needed, the ResurFX fractional mode resurfaces the surface to soften roughness.
Many people notice brighter, more even skin within a week or two as treated pigment clears, though results vary and build gradually. Downtime is minimal, with mild redness that typically settles quickly.
Most people describe a quick, warm snap with each pulse, a little like a light rubber band. It's well tolerated, and your provider will tailor the settings to your comfort and skin type.
There's little to none. Your skin may look slightly pink for a short while, and brown spots can briefly darken before they flake away over the following days.
IPL works best on certain skin types, so your provider will assess your skin first and tailor every setting accordingly. If IPL isn't the right fit, we'll talk through other options together.
